Kimberly M. Harmon joined Auburn VNA Health Network in June 2010 as the President & CEO. Her mission is to strengthen and continue the viability of the non-profit local organization. Kim has been a community nurse since 1995 and has held various positions as a field nurse, clinical manager and director. Kim Harmon is widely known for her entrepreneurial spirit in creating/founding Harmon Home Health in 2006, which provided private in-home services for senior members and those in need in the community. In 2009, she unveiled under Harmon Enterprises her newest venture "Team Celebrate Life". "Team Celebrate Life" is a unique wellness team of practitioners who focus on well-being and healing modalities. The services that are offered bring spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness in the comfort of the client's home or office.
In Harmon's limited spare time, she is a seasoned Advisory Board Member and consultant. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for FLIC® (Female Leadership Interest Council, Inc.), member of the Worcester State University Foundation Board, Advisor to Auburn Youth & Family Services, recent member on the Board of Directors of Pernet Family Health Services, 2010 Vice President of the Board for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, consults the Chamber's Health Care Committee and chairs the Legislative Committee, and an integral member of the School/Business partnership. She is a graduate of the entrepreneur program, UMass Donohue Institute, Amherst, MA.
Harmon also participates in writing a monthly column: Educating Seniors... Bring Your Health Home, published by the Stonebridge Press. She also writes a column for Vitality Magazine, which is a Worcester publication for active adults. Harmon was awarded the 2008 Worcester Business Journal's "Corporate Achievement Award" and the Worcester State College 2008 "Prestigious Young Alumni Award." She was featured in an article in the Alumni Magazine in 2009. In September of 2008, Harmon was named by the Worcester Business Journal as one of their "40 Under Forty" winners, celebrating 40 business people in Central Mass under the age of 40 making valuable contributions to their business community. Most recently, Harmon was featured in the June 2009 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine.
Bill Behan, AVHN’s Director of Nursing & Therapy, has been a registered nurse for 25 years with a background specialty in the following areas: home health, infectious diseases, public health, and substance abuse treatment. His most extensive experience has been working with people with HIV/AIDS and public health policy development. Behan attended Nursing School at Mount Wachusett Community College and received his Bachelors Degree at Worcester State University. He has lived in the Worcester area for 30 years and is an active member of the Charlton Lions Club Board of Directors and formerly a longtime member of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, as well as the Connecticut HIV Prevention Planning Group Co-Chair from 2001-2007.
Scott MacLean joined the Auburn VNA Health Network as the Director of Operations overseeing Bancroft Private Care and Pakachoag Gardens. Maclean has over 30 years of healthcare management experience in the Worcester market in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. He holds his Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and completing his Bachelor's at Worcester State University.
Brett L. Campbell (Salmonson) was hired in July 2010 as AVHN's Director of Public Relations & Fund Development. This position was newly created to oversee branding and marketing efforts, communications, and the coordination of fundraisers and special events. Campbell has five years of management experience in the home care industry and holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications from Northeastern University.
Campbell is an Advisory Board member for West Side and Blaire House, former Advisory Council member of Central MA Agency on Aging, an active member of the following: Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Women in Development, Young Women's Professional Association, Worcester Area Group of Social Workers, and also the recipient of the 2011 Worcester Business Journal's 40 Under Forty Award.
Fran George is the Finance Controller for the Auburn VNA Health Network. George has over 20 years of financial management experience in the non-profit sector, namely in higher education and social services. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Bentley University.
Samir Malkani, MD is a clinical endocrinologist and diabetologist. Dr. Malkani went to medical school at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He then worked at Sheffield University Hospital in the UK and received the MRCP (UK) from the Royal College of Physicians in London and did his fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA. Dr. Malkani has clinical and research interests in various aspects of diabetes mellitus and its longterm complications. He is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at UMass Medical School and Chief of the diabetes clinic at the University campus. Daniel Craig, Chairman
