History of Auburn VNA Health Network

Auburn VNA Health Network (AVHN) offers a complete range of home care services. History

The organization has an illustrious past, which began in 1919, and was initially called the Auburn District Nursing Association. It consisted of one community health nurse, located in the Auburn Town Hall. That nurse would make home visits, and the overall premise was a very intimate, personal relationship with the public. As time went on, the organization grew to a few part-time nurses before eventually becoming the Auburn VNA; however, it has always maintained its neighborhood roots.

Award-Winning Care – AVHN excels in patient care. Consistently high survey responses have earned us a "National Best Practice Agency" rating and Fazzi Associates' Patient Satisfaction Award of Distinction in 2009. Additionally, the Agency has received a Deficiency-Free Survey from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in 2010.

Community Support – As a non-profit organization we rely on the generous support of our community. Our dedicated Board of Directors, donors, and team of volunteers make it possible for AVHN to continue its mission of keeping Worcester-area individuals and families safe, healthy, and independent at home.
